About Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat

Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat is a nonprofit organization based in Kotzebue, Alaska, that works to promote the cultural, economic, and educational development of the IƱupiaq people of Northwest Alaska. Founded in 1989, the organization is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing traditional IƱupiaq culture while also providing educational, employment, and economic opportunities. The organization works to empower the IƱupiaq people of the region to become leaders in their communities and to promote the cultural and economic self-sufficiency of the region.
Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat offers a variety of programs and services that focus on the preservation, promotion, and revitalization of IƱupiaq culture, language, and values. Through its language revitalization program, the organization provides language classes, cultural activities, and language immersion camps for adults and children.
