About Tebughna School

Tebughna School is a K-12 school located in the small rural community of Tyonek, Alaska. Established in 1961, Tebughna School serves approximately 200 students from the local Native Village of Tyonek. The school is part of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission.
At Tebughna School, students are provided with a well-rounded education that emphasizes Native culture and language. Classroom instruction is supplemented with a variety of extracurricular activities such as basketball, volleyball, and track, as well as cultural activities such as Native dancing, drumming, and storytelling. Tebughna School also offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse student population, including a special education program, a gifted and talented program, and an English as a Second Language program.
Tebughna School strives to create a safe, supportive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential. The school is committed to providing the highest quality education possible while preserving the unique culture and language of the Native community.
