About Lamar High School

Lamar High School is a public high school located in Houston, Texas. It is part of the Houston Independent School District and is one of the oldest high schools in the city. The school was founded in 1936 and has since become one of the most well-known and respected schools in Houston. Lamar High School is known for its academic excellence, having been named a National Blue Ribbon School in 1999, and consistently ranked among the top schools in the state.
In addition to its academic success, Lamar High School also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and sports programs. The school has a strong athletic program, with teams competing in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, and many other sports. The school also offers a variety of clubs and organizations for students to get involved in, including student government, National Honor Society, and the Science Club.
