About George Key

George Key was an American civil rights leader and minister. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1921 and was the son of a prominent Baptist minister. He attended Morehouse College and then went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta.
Key was a leader in the civil rights movement. He was a founding member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and served as a field secretary for the organization. He also worked with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Congress of Racial Equality.
Key was an outspoken advocate for civil rights and worked to end segregation and racial injustice. He was a strong opponent of the Vietnam War and an advocate for economic justice. He was also a vocal advocate for the rights of women and the disabled.
Key was a powerful speaker and a passionate leader. He was a major force in the civil rights movement and was instrumental in bringing about change. He died in 2001, but his legacy lives on. He is remembered as a champion of civil rights and a leader of the civil rights movement.
