About Lassen-antelope Volcanic Academy (Lava)

Lassen-Antelope Volcanic Academy (LAVA) is a public charter school located in the rural community of Antelope, California. Established in 2021, LAVA is an innovative, project-based learning environment for students in grades 6-12. Our mission is to empower students to become self-directed learners and to develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary to succeed in college and career.
At LAVA, we believe that every student is unique and has the potential to be successful. We provide a rigorous academic program that combines the best of traditional and innovative learning approaches. Our teachers are passionate about teaching and use innovative strategies to engage students in their learning. Our classes are small and interactive, and we provide a wide range of extracurricular activities to help students explore their interests and develop their talents.
We are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment that respects and values diversity. We strive to create a culture of acceptance and inclusion, where all students feel welcome and respected. We also prioritize social-emotional learning, providing students with the skills and support they need to be successful in school and in life.
