About Latimer

Latimer is a small village located in the county of Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated on the River Chess, and is part of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is known for its traditional English charm, and is home to many historic buildings and monuments.
Latimer has a long history, and was first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. It is believed that the name Latimer is derived from the Old English ‘Læt-þe-more’, meaning the ‘loud pool’.
The village has a population of just over 1,000 people. It has a small shopping centre, as well as a number of pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Latimer Arts Centre is a popular venue for cultural events and performances.
Latimer is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists, as it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The village is also home to a number of historic sites, such as Latimer House, a Grade I listed manor house, and the Latimer Monument, which was erected in 1630.
Latimer is a great place to visit for a relaxing break. It is a peaceful village, with plenty of things to do and see.
