About Pomo

The Pomo Indians are an indigenous people of California. They are a tribe of Native Americans who have resided in the area for thousands of years. The Pomo Indians are known for their basket weaving, which is a skill that has been passed down through generations. They are also known for their rich culture and traditions, which include storytelling, music, and dance.
The Pomo Indians have a long and complex history. They were first encountered by Europeans in the late 1700s and have since been subjected to a variety of changes, including forced relocation and cultural assimilation. Despite these challenges, the Pomo Indians have managed to maintain their culture and traditions.
Today, the Pomo Indians are still a vibrant and thriving people. They continue to practice their traditional basket weaving and other skills, as well as participate in cultural events and ceremonies. The Pomo Indians are also active in the political arena, advocating for the rights of indigenous peoples.
